Citrus Wedding Flowers: Maggie’s Orange, Peach & Butter Yellow Bouquet

Citrus Wedding Flowers: Maggie’s Orange, Peach & Butter Yellow Bouquet

Turning Maggie’s Citrus Colour Palette into Wedding Flowers

Every so often a bride sends over a colour palette that just makes me smile immediately.

That was Maggie.

She sent through this bright, citrus-inspired mix of oranges, peaches, buttery yellows and soft pinks and said, essentially: “This is the vibe.”

And honestly? It was a very good vibe.

Citrus palettes are having a bit of a moment right now — they’re joyful, fresh, and they photograph beautifully. When they’re balanced properly, they feel vibrant without being overwhelming. Maggie’s palette had that sweet spot: bright but still romantic.

In fact, we loved this palette so much that we’ve now officially added it to the colour palette options on the site — because if Maggie proved anything, it’s that these colours together are pure wedding joy. Click here to see our Citrus DIY Kit!

My job was to take those colours and turn them into flowers that felt like the natural extension of her vision.

The flowers arrived ready to shine, and Maggie took the reins, arranging them with her own eye for detail. The result? A personal, playful bouquet that felt completely hers.

Starting With Maggie’s Colour Inspiration

When a bride sends colour inspiration, I’m not trying to recreate an exact bouquet from Pinterest.

What I’m really looking at is the feeling behind the palette.

Is it soft? Bold? Playful? Romantic?

Maggie’s colours had this lovely balance of citrus brightness with softer tones layered in. The orange and peach shades bring the energy, while blush pink and buttery yellow keep everything feeling light and romantic.

That mix gives so much room to play when choosing flowers.

Here's one of the inspo photos (not our photo, just to show what she was hoping for!):

We made a few tweaks (including taking out the purple) and this is what we ended up with:

Building the Bouquet

For Maggie’s custom floral kit, I selected flowers that echoed her palette while giving the bouquet lots of movement and texture.

The lineup looked like this:

Shimmer roses for that warm peachy glow

White stock to add height (and the most beautiful soft fragrance)

Salmon ranunculus for those dreamy, ruffled layers

Blush pink ranunculus to soften the brighter tones

Butter yellow lisianthus for that gentle citrus pop

Queen Anne’s lace to keep things airy and garden-inspired

Orange cosmos and spray roses bringing the vibrant citrus energy

Sprigs of nagi for clean, glossy greenery

Designing a bouquet is a bit like cooking. You don’t want just one flavour — you want balance.

Something soft. Something bright. Something airy. Something structured.

All working together.

Letting the Flowers Do Their Thing

The goal is always flowers that look effortless — like they naturally grew together in a garden somewhere.

Of course, there’s a bit of careful thinking behind the scenes to make that happen. Colour layering, texture, shape, how each flower supports the others.

But when it all comes together, it feels easy. Joyful. Natural.

Exactly the energy Maggie’s palette called for.

Why Starting With Colour Works So Well

A lot of couples begin planning their weddings by choosing colours first, long before they know the names of any flowers.

And honestly? That’s the perfect place to start.

When we design from a colour palette instead of a strict flower list, we get so much more flexibility to choose blooms that are seasonal, fresh, and that genuinely work well together.

It means the final flowers feel cohesive with the whole wedding — not forced or overly matchy.

Just beautifully balanced.

Maggie’s Custom Floral Kit

Maggie’s flowers were designed as a custom floral kit — a lovely option for couples who want thoughtfully designed flowers without needing huge installations.

We start with inspiration, build the colour story, and then I translate that into flowers that feel natural and full of personality.

Simple. Beautiful. Very much Maggie.

Planning Flowers Around Your Colour Palette

If you’ve already got a colour palette saved somewhere on your phone (and most brides do), that’s actually the perfect starting point.

Send it my way.

I genuinely love turning those colour ideas into flowers that feel joyful, natural, and completely personal to your day.

Because the best wedding flowers don’t just look pretty.

They feel like they belong.
